Nationally renowned author, speaker, and photographer Amy Simmons has photographed some of the world’s most powerful and respected leaders, including President George W. Bush and his wife Laura, former President George H.W. Bush, Oprah Winfrey, Benjamin Netanyahu, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson and Chuck Norris. However, nothing excites her more than capturing the special moments of children and families in a relaxed outdoor setting. She graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography, one of the most prestigious colleges for photography in the country.
She loves to travel throughout the world. Her favorite places include her family farms in Ozark, Arkansas, McKinney, Texas, summers in Aspen, Colorado, and Santa Barbara, California. When she is not behind the camera or writing her books, she loves adventurous activities like snow skiing, four wheelers, paragliding, and hiking. On the softer side, a beautiful sunset, thunderstorms, and a good fire are at the top of the list of Amy’s favorites.
Her first book, When God Has A Way, No Other Way Works, opened many doors for her to speak and encourage others in their journey through life, the first place of which was the White House. She has spoken at retreats and special events around the country. You may have heard of Amy or various radio interviews or even seen her on television shows such as Daily Talk.
Reaching out to people is one of Amy’s spiritual gifts. She supports charities including Kids Across America and East West Ministries, just to mention a couple. Her second book, When God Intervenes, Let Him, is a collection of personal experiences when God intervened in her life in special and amazing ways. It truly shows how God will intervene when you trust him and are available to him. She believe that “everything happens for a reason” and God has specific plans and purposes for every situation that happens in our lives. She will challenge you to make an investment in a relationship with God so you too will recognize “When God Intervenes, Let Him!” Amy feels strongly about sponsoring short term mission trips, following Christ’s command to “Go into all nations and spread the gospel.” She also volunteers at her church in the prayer rooms. Showing people that there is someone who cares, especially in their time of need, is important to her. She and her dog Buddy reside in Dallas, Texas.
